Kevin Reported last month that "Google Analytics" reports BB7 phones as being Apple phones. RIM responded that it was Google that was at fault & that they were working on it. Does anyone know if they have fixed the issue yet?

This is a serious problem I would think RIM would be calling Google ever 5 minutes to fix this until it works properly.

I was going to start a new thread but I think I'll just bump yours.

Guys, can you do me a favor? Hit Papo GP on as many BlackBerry devices you have available (Pearls and Styles, I'm ready for you also!) so I can check if Google Analytics is picking up the visits properly with the filter I created.

    PlayBooks count as well!

UPDATE #1: With good pkcable's help here is a preliminary report:

    * The PB OS shows as (not set)
    * Both OS 6 and 7 browsers show as Safari
    * The PB browser ALSO shows as Safari

Thanks to you on Halifax, Antigonish and Philadelphia! You know who you are (even if I don't)!

    UPDATE #2

    * It managed to notice my 8520, yet my 8310 and 9780 as well as PK's 9930 did not register.

    * Here's how I got it working. Do notice that for me, knowing that BLackBerry/PlayBook uses are getting to the blog and how many is enough. If you want a device by device list, you'll have to create separate filters...

For BlackBerry Handheld visits: Include Screen Resolution Exactly Matching 480x640 OR 640x480 OR 480x360 OR 480x320 OR 360x400 OR 360x480 OR 240x260 AND Exclude Operating System Android AND iPhone AND Windows AND SymbianOS AND Linux AND Macintosh AND Nokia AND Chrome OS

For BlackBerry PlayBook visits: Include Screen Resolution Exactly Matching 1024x600 OR 600x1024 AND Exclude Operating System Android AND Windows AND Linux AND iPad AND iPhone

(Yeah, some of the excludes may not be necessary, but better safe than sorry).

    UPDATE #3

    * It seems that Include Operating System Exactly Matching BlackBerry works for handhelds, though I get different numbers of visits like this.

Thanks to you over there on Fresno, Abbotsford, Sillery, Falls Church, Figueira Da Foz (wrong positive for city of Pombal in Portugal ) and Oakland!

EDIT: BB Handheld string fixed. Torches and Storms should be ok now.

I've noticed this myself. My 9930 displays as Safari. Crapola.
The mention of BlackBerry is in the UA. Would be nice if that were somehow parsed by these analytics to properly identify the device at least.
You just can't help but wonder if some of these analytics companies kicking RIM in the teeth all the time are going of these kind of stats, where so many BlackBerry's are identifying as mobile Safari.

UPDATE #4: I know why default BlackBerry and my custom are giving different results. I ignored Torches can use landscape. He're an updated string anyway.

So it seems at least analytics can really see the devices, but it still reports them as Safari browsers.

Include Screen Resolution Exactly Matching 480x640 OR 640x480 OR 480x360 OR 480x320 OR 360x400 OR 360x480 OR 240x260 AND Exclude Operating System Android AND iPhone AND Windows AND SymbianOS AND Linux AND Macintosh AND Nokia AND Chrome OS
