So I am re-upping my contract and decided to STICK with BlackBerry

I am coming from a Bold 9900 to a Z10.

Tell me on a scale of 1-10, how much better is this phone than the 9900 with '10' being the best

I did a lot of research before deciding to stick with BB. I understand that maybe the "stock" isn't doing so good but I understand BB has at least plenty of cash on hand. Also, the OS 10 seems to be more 'innovative' than what's currently out there. iOS 6/7 seem to be cosmetic changes and generally is too locked down for me to even consider.

Android was tempting though. Plenty of apps available and open source. However, not a huge fan of the layout.

Here's to hoping that BlackBerry continues to INNOVATE like they did once upon a time when they came out with the first smartphone and delivered the BEST corporate mobile computing platform for almost a decade

Good for you! Will probably make the move to T-Mobile for the Z10 or Sprint for the Q10. Coming from a iPhone 4S and a BB Curve before that.

Congrats on your new purchase! The z10 i would say its much more of a leap than any previous upgrade. I would say atleast 7 out of 10. Dont hesitate to ask questions tomorrow after you get it

Unfortunately I cant answer your question because I don't have a BB10 device yet but I just ordered one off ebay and it should arrive soon!

I can say I can't wait to sell my 9900 when I get my Z10! BB10 is a breath of fresh air compared to BBOS from the little time I've spent with it. That's just my opinion though

The best part is, I can sell the 9900 for like $200 and get the Z10 for just $100 after extending my contract. Seems like a great deal to me

I'm dumping my iPhone 5 for a Q10, at least for now.

I will probably hold on to it until after the iPhone 5S and see.

For now, I really missed the physical keyboard.

I'm coming from a 9900 from T-Mobile and I have ZERO regrets. The Z10 is an amazing phone! I was in the same position and had I thought about the iPhone 5, Samsung galaxy 3, and Z10. All three are solid phones.

Swiped On My Zed10

I came from a 9930 and I'd give it an 8. The only thing that kills me is the battery life and obviously losing the best keyboard. Still, having the extra real estate is huge. My wife, who has an Iphone 5, loves the time shift mode. Surprised BlackBerry didn't use that as a selling point in their commercials as it is a great selling tool.

Congratulations on deciding to stay with BlackBerry. The Z10 is an amazing device. I'm four or five months in and I still can't put it down. The new OS is a blast once you get the hang of it.

I must issue a word of caution though. The learning curve can be steep. Take your time in getting to know the ins and outs of the OS. CrackBerry has an excellent article that I consider a must read. The title is something like "Just got your new Z10, 10 things to do first" or something like that.
Read it. All the tips here in the forums are a must as well. Plenty of threads you can search. Be patient! It gets easier by the day. Before you know it you'll be zooming in and out, and all around. No other OS on the market offers what BlackBerry 10 offers: it's quite unique. Have fun and enjoy.

I'm so tempted to use the upgrade with Rogers and get one for myself also. Only thing is, my contract expires around November, and with the Z30 seemingly around the corner (hopefully) not sure if I should make a move just yet.

No one can answer that question apart from you.

The z10 has potential but it is frustrating too. In terms of experience I would say 7.5 out of 10 going from os7 to BlackBerry 10.
Possibly 6 if you really love that pkb.
It's an improvement in lots of ways and a downgrade in others

9.9 out of 10. The .1 is due to the absence of a few key apps from app world that you can sideload such as Instagram, Google Maps, Flipboard, and Netflix. BlackBerry 10 would have a much warner reception if these common apps were present as OTA downloads. Many users still can't figure out how to sideload even if it is rather simple and straightforward.
