I hate when I mail a letter and it takes a week to get to the receiver.

I don't see how a 3 seconds delay could be a problem. I highly doubt that anyone doing any serious work is bothered by a 3 seconds delay of his/hers emails.

Could you provide an example of a situation in which the 3 seconds delay has even a shadow of meaning for what you are doing?

I'm sure that you can make the 3 seconds back up on your reply on the awesome Classic Keyboard.
When it comes to email, it shouldn't require an instant reply. Especially when you are talking about seconds. I could understand if your delay was hours. Maybe even minutes. But 3 seconds? I constantly am trying to figure out which device is going to receive a push notification first but it's never the same. Sometimes I get them first on my Z10, sometimes my laptop. Usually, it's my Passport.

BBOS boys were tripping off 5 second delays in dialing a contact on BB10 in another thread. this isn't far off. not to say this is a worthy issue, it's not.

so you're managing your email on 2 different mobile locations? i don't believe if you delete or read an email from one device it will reflect on another subsequently... i could be wrong.

LOL, this thread! Okay guys, 3 seconds isn't anything major unless you're a drug dealer and need info fast. No out of all seriousness though, you won't die from being behind 3 seconds! Now the best BlackBerry's for emails are BIS ran BlackBerry devices. I remember one day I ordered something from Amazon and before the page even got done loading after the order, I got an email. It was a click and boom!

I've been carrying a Classic on one side and a Passport on the other hip for a few weeks. Sometimes the Passport would get it first, sometimes the Classic. They are both connected to the same ActiveSync accoun on my own server. I don't think it really matters or can be controlled.

Generally they arrive within 1 second, but sometimes a few seconds.

Getting emails 3 seconds late on the classic....

I usually get them right away on the passport. Is that a problem on my phone or in general?

I measured mine. And it takes 1.5 second longer.

    I am mad.

I don't think 3 Seconds is an issue either.... But it is interesting if true.

But it's not like the "good old days" when your BlackBerry would have a message 10 minutes before any other devices. In today's world everyone just assumes that email arrives right away... and in most cases it does - within a few seconds anyway. There are very few smartphone owners today that ever had to live though the days of pre push email.

I figure if I reply to this thread that I am part of the problem on here, so I am.

For my sales job, phone calls and texts are for immediate / important communication. Email is for non-time sensitive communication. Email is understood to be viewed at a latter time. Unless a phone call or text informs you to watch your inbox.

If 3 seconds is this important I would like to know more about you and what you do to generate your income.

You're right, 3 seconds is not acceptable. I'm emailing Chen and spamming everyone at BlackBerry to inform them about this problem you're having.

considering he had the time to write out that post, i'm guessing minimum wage at best. lmao

but really, if 3 seconds is too much then that's why IM was invented. so many apps to use... yet you rely on email (OP). why?

Passport has a Snapdragon 801, the older phones are running an S4 Plus. S4 Plus is pretty lame. People try to defend the lame specs BlackBerry is putting out, but they do have consequences.

If any, blame the network chip.
Curious how's the setting of OP.
Desk wired and Classic on cell or/and wifi ?

If so, perform a router boot and try again.
Sometimes things happen simultaneously but are nor related ...

    2 cents, no more.
FTR: My passport (wifi/cell) gets my O365 emails slightly ahead (0.5 sec) of my powerhorse desk wired to 100Mb cable.
