    Hello,

I have a Torch, and often am in areas where there is NO carrier service at all. I would still like to use the GPS functionality to provide speed, direction, and possibly logging of the track. Are there apps that handle this type of thing?

    Thanks!

TrekBuddy and Mobile GMaps are the only two mapping apps that I know of for the BlackBerry that don't use real-time data and thus don't require a carrier signal. I haven't used either, and I don't know if they have Torch versions.

Here is a link to a TrekBuddy tutorial: http://forums.crackberry.com/f41/tre...6/#post5811430.

sportypal also works offline, don't need data connection unless you want to upload your track to the developer site

Using GPS Tool on my Torch I just got signals from 10 satellites with Lat, Long, Alt, Heading, and Speed while carrier and Wi-Fi were turned off. Launching BB Maps from within app would not allow BB M to function without data though.
