A casual acquaintance of mine had a Storm that crapped out on him. He took it to Verizon and of course they couldn't fix it. Being a frequent visitor here on Crackberry I told him confidently that I could fix it. Using BBSAK I wiped it and using the Blackberry software I had it back in working order in no time. Thanks Crackberry!
Now the bad part.
I was checking functionality on the device and was going to format the SD card. I was having trouble accessing it. I ended up checking the media file and guess what I saw. Oh...my...God... His pictures were all there. I only saw the thumbnails but that was more than enough. Why? Why? Why do people take pictures of their...you get the point.
So here is your friendly reminder. Don't take pictures with your phone that you wouldn't want on the front page of the paper. While most members here are more tech savvy than most, nobody is immune. People can and will see them. If you take nothing else away from this post make it this, don't check the media file when helping someone fix their phone!
And this is also a compelling reason to use a password. You wouldn't want some riffraff who finds (or steals) your phone to click pictures of his private parts and mms them to all your contacts!

ROFL!!!!! As an IT guy, and the neighborhood computer "geek" I have become immune. I have learned to ignore, the picture folders, and the web histories, UNLESS the customer wants me to check, and if I DO happen to see it, I quickly forget it. To each his own. Mostly they blame "the kids" And I "believe" them.
I see the guy today and told him I had his phone and it was fixed. He asked what I did and I told him I wiped it and did a reinstall. He said, "well, there goes all my porn." I said, "nope, its still on there." we exchanged an awkward glance, he apologized and I handed him the phone. I guess you could call that a happy ending. (pun intended)

Before there were all of these free streaming sites, we used to uncover a few user's pr0n collections fairly often. It's a disturbing insight into someone's psyche to see the stuff that they're into...
A similar thing happened to me when I was running my IT business in Switzerland a couple of years back.
I took this guy's PC home to fix it and I did a full backup of his hard drive onto my server.
I wiped his PC and reinstalled Windows. I set up his accounts and copied his stuff back ove by mounting his drive on my server for speed.
When I put his drive back in his now working PC, I did a quich check to make sure his data was intact.
I openbe a random (really) picture folder and wss confroned with an absolutely drop dead gorgeous blone who was totally nekkid. Other pics in the same folder (well, I had to check ) were similar. This girl could have been a model.
I finished the PC and took it round to his house. The guy opens the door, welcomes me and says "Have you met my wife?"
My phone is PW protected and any inappropriate pics are hidden. And to be honest, if it was between not being able to recover my BB or having some IT guy see my naughty pics, I'd rather have my BB recovered and make some tech guy's day.
Again, I don't have any problem with dirty pictures. It just appeared that they were self portraits. I can't understand why someone would take pictures of themselves like that.

To send to other people...
My husband's deployed, so I keep mine around to send to him.
