BRO- Blackberry is dead. What are you talking about? Jesus.
Blackberry isn't Dead. BIS works, my e-mail still functions and my blackberry works fine. Carriers in canada offer blackberry smartphones, NOC isn't shut down either. Maybe it's "dead" to you, but not to others.

My (pushed) gmail, contacts and calendar actually would sync up very well OTA...! But I prefer MS Office integration because I get it all, notes and tasks, too...via Bluetooth. No USB cable required. My work matches my BB, without exception. I'm not saying the cloud is evil, just that it should've been an option. What would've been wrong with that? If it's truly "the way and the light", the cloud would easily replace the old standard over time.
Do you really wanna change your POP3 email to @live.com or hotmail.com? Office 365 costs $10/month. MS Live max's out at 999 contacts...MS Office has no limit that I know of. BB can pick up hidden wireless SSID's. W7 won't/can't, but yeah, we should all dump our BBs because they're "inferior"? To each his own, me thinks...
By Cloud Services the person is referring to something similar to Zune and Windows Live Services.
BB Protect... Eh... not really. And it's not like it matters, since both iOS and WP7 have that capability. WP7 had it since like a week after it RTM'd back last September.
No offense, but this is some of the most ******** crap I've ever read on a forum.I was just looking at the features/updates to WP 7.5 today.
* emphasis on multitasking
* more integrated apps
* better mobile Web browsing
* integrated social networking
* conversation threads
Seems like WP7 is turning heads because it's trying to be more like Blackberry.
WP7 Multi-Tasking is comparable to iOS4 Multi-Tasking. Has nothing to do with BB. Android multi-tasks similar to BB, not WP7.
WP7 has APIs that allow Apps to hook into other system apps. Like, when you search for music you can deep link straight into another app to get a review of it, same for music, restaurants, etc. RIM doesn't do that on BBOS in any decently comparable fashion.
IE9 is superior to the BB OS7 browser which checkerboards even on the newer BB devices with better hardware and 50% more RAM than launch WP7 devices (and even smaller screens and less pixels to render in most cases). Way to go.
What OS isn't integrating Social Networking, except RIM trying to build BBM into some sort of faux Social Network. It's all just Apps on BB, that get push notifications or run in the background. Oh, you mean Social Feeds? LMAO! WP7 took a different approach to it that is similar to what Android Manufacturers off in their skins (Sense, TouchWiz) and what iOS5 is doing with Twitter. Social Network Integration went mainstream back in 2009 or before, when even Windows Mobile devices were shipping with Social Network Integration - as can be seen in HTC Sense and Samsung TouchWiz Windows Mobile devices.
Email Conversations went mainstream a year ago. Microsoft had already added them to Desktop Outlook as well as Windows Live Mail and Hotmail in the browser. It's only natural that they bring them to WP7. How long did it take RIM to get threaded SMS? Windows Mobile had that back in 2006 or 7, IIRC.
You forgot a ton of other things though. What are RIM doing with BBM Music? Trying to copy Zune Pass? Not sure.
Bing Vision, Music, Local Scout, Maps? Zune/Zune Pass? Office SkyDrive/365/SharePoint integration? ActiveSync Support?
User Experience on a BB is fragmented, disjointed, inconsistent, and lacking in integration compared to WP7 and even Android (where Google does a good job integrating their services/Apps into the system). Just don't go there.
I don't think anyone is trying to copy RIM at the moment. Why would they? There's absolutely no positive incentive in doing so. The only care Microsoft gives IRT Blackberries is trading some free BES (to a customer base they have stated they aren't targetting with WP7) to load their BING app on Blackberry smartphones.
Haters gonna hate, though I always love it when people show up with their 2-3 year old phones and talk like they know everything about anything.
999 Contacts. Obviously a problem for the Average Consumper.
Live/Hotmail is ActiveSync compatible. All that happens over the air. Did you even read the thread. I don't wanna repeat whole paragraphs that I've already written.
Google is ActiveSync compatible as well.
Still don't care about BT/USB tethering to Outlook.
With WP7 you have no choice but to have a Live Account, which includes Hotmail. Just like you need a Google Account for Android and a Blackberry ID for Blackberries.
BIS has always been inferior to ActiveSync. The only thing that made it better was the fact that none of the big consumer email services were ActiveSync-compatible.
WP7 syncs Tasks from Windows Live (talled To-Do's there) and allows you to display them on your calendar.
And of course, it can all be managed in Outlook.
But I've already stated all of this. Go back and read.
Derailed.
Closing up shop.
