Who cares about Linux?
See my earlier comments about USB Mass Storage.
Again, Android has nothing comparable to Zune/iTunes/BB DM as a standard solution. You probably haven't used DoubleTwist (Terrible, and the AirSync app for the phone will demolish your battery in short order). HTC/Kies are device, specific and in many cases aren't even distributed in certain regions. Galaxy S US customers didn't get a Kies Sync Solution, only a mini-version for updates. Many/most of Android users are wholly reliant on USB Mass Storage. BB has it still, because it's always had it and we all see how well their OS has evolved in the past few years (i.e. not much at all).
This has nothing to do with liking one more than the other. Just stop spreading false info.
Thx.
EDIT: My Comment about Zune was directed at your claim that you had to upload media to the Cloud to get it to the device. The only thing you have to do that for is documents, and you aren't forced to do even that it. You can recieve them via email and save them to your Office Hub on the phone.
Most people who use USB Mass Storage do so either to:
1. Sideload Media
2. Sideload Applications
3. Sideload Documents
1-2 are non-factor since Zune Syncs media and WP7 doesn't support App Sideloading. 3 is non-factor since there are trivial ways to get documents onto the phone anyways. Your documents aren't required to stay in the cloud. You can delete them anytime you wish, from the phone/browser.
Synching to Outlook on WP7 is not needed with the Live Integration and Outlook Connector/Integration. You can literally drag and drop/copy contacts from Outlook to Windows Live there. That, or you can just use Windows Live Essentials and everything is done directly in Live Services.
BTW, the integrated FB/WLM Chat and Group SMS/MMS is incredible :P
