Fresh from the IT Guy (how to restore?)
When my company gave me my BB (Bold 9700, but I don't think that is critical), after unboxing, from my understanding, our IT Guy (ITG) had to load a company policy and register it with the corporate network before corporate messages would come through. Then he gave it to me. I will call the state of my BB at that moment the "Fresh From the IT Guy" state.
Out of curiosity, I did a complete Security Wipe (after changing some stuff, then wanting to go back). I was surprised that, after the wipe, I needed ITG to re-register the device. (I say this, because I read the FAQ on how to uninstall a policy, and it wasn't as easy as wiping.)
So, here are some questions:
1. Is "loading the policy" and "registering it on the corporate network" two separate steps?
2. Is there a good way to "take a snap shot" of the device (or make a backup) so I can return to this state (i.e. Fresh from the IT Guy), so I don't need to go back to him every time my experimenting goes awry?
On my Android device, there are backup utilities (e.g. ClockworkMod Recovery) that allow you to take a snapshot, then return to that state at any time in the future. I guess I am looking for something similar for BB. Even if it isn't one quick step, is there a procedure I can follow to make sure I can get back to "Fresh from the IT Guy" state (and ideally, any other state after that)?
