Amaze is great. My TomTom went out on a trip and I checked for a GPS to use on my phone, I did a OTA and started to use Amaze and it worked with no problems.
I like the compass view and the weather checker. I deleted it after I got my TomTom fixed but it was a life saver.
Some of the Highways were different names and it wanted to take me in a longer route in a couple of places, but all in all it is better then Nav4All which is what I tried prior on my last phone which was a Curve.

I just wanted to try the garmin mobile and see if it worked.
It works. Wonderfully. I don't wanna delete it!!!!

    OTA method if you want:
    1. Get bbfilescount to unzip file
    2. MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
    3. run the 2kb .jad file
    4. Just to try, of course..

You know if that gives traffic updates and all and keeps track of the new roads and what not ?

I downloaded LifeinPocket this morning and used it while walking my dog. It says I reached my destination when I was 2 blocks away. That concerns me since the GPS on my phone locates me only 3 houses away when I am home.
Also it seems like it takes a long time to update and I had to keep pressing the arrow key that's at the bottom on the right side.
How does WHERE compare to Lifeinpocket? I really don't use GPS for a phone that much but I did use Amaze when my TomTom went out. I deleted it later to get memory back. So it does not pay for me to use something I have to spend money on.

I have been using LifeInPocket for a while and it always takes me to 50 feet within destinations.
I used to use WHERE which you have to look at map to get there after finding a restaurant. While for LifeInPocket you simply click on the restaurant and it will guide you to the restaurant using nice voice instruction.
I don't use WHERE and Tom Tom anymore and I just deleted Viigo because LifeInPocket does all.
    Thanks tiffanyjon for that response.

What else does LifeInPocket do that you felt was better than Tom Tom?

Your right I downloaded Google maps and it put me one hose away when I used LifeinPocket so maybe that was the reason. I just hate watching my memory go down and that little clock start to turn when I just look at e-mails or use the internet.

Has anyone compared LifeInPocket with Gokivo?

I am currently using Gokivo and understand they are now charging. Based on the responses in this forum I am considering LifeInPocket.

I will say, I am happy with Gokivo.

I just used it in my car and it is very very close to tomtom nav commands. Might not be has instantaneous but once you start using it I see it will be ok.
I do like the traffic which you have to pay for on TomTom though the Tomtom usually tells me if something pops up that is unexpected. Then again you could listen to 1010 or radio 88 and get the same report.
Most of the traffic reports are from work that is on going. So again you could find that info out from radio or the use of traffic widget on verizon before you leave your house.
The restaurant stuff at least in my area is not up to date along with gas prices and the other things that can be found. But then again in this economy business go under and gas prices change if you sneeze.
I will try BB maps instead of google to see if memory is not eaten up. My battery from 100% went to 15% in half an hour. So you got to keep the car charger plugged in.
This could be a problem if I had to use this in an emergency situation. Lost in the forest or field or on a stalk and trying to keep track of position.
All in all it works and for what it costs works GREAT.

would you elaborate a little more? I clicked on the jad file and it has a bunch of cod files. Do you drag and paste these into the media card? I'm confused. I tried unzip the files and drag them into the media card, all the cod files and the jad file but I don't see it in my Bold. I'm lost here. please help

Yes shows traffic, but nothing as good or clear as Gmaps. Tells you which fwy has what color traffic, like a list not visually like gmaps layers.

I think when people list the various navigation apps, they need to list some of the specs, such as:

    Nav4All
    Price: Free until 1/1/2010
    Display: Arrows Only
    Turn-By-Turn: Yes
    Street Names: No
Note: Only uses data while calculating routes.

    amAzeGPS
Price: 4.5 is still free, 5.0 is approx $3/month
Display: Choice of arrown only or full 3D maps.
    Turn-By-Turn: Yes
    Street Names: No
Note: Data used while calculating routes and displaying maps.

    LifeInPocket
    Price: Free
    Display: Arrows Only
    Turn-By-Turn: Yes
    Street Names: No
    Note:

    Garmin Mobile
Price: $99 ($79 through the owners lounge)
    Display: 3D Maps
    Turn-By-Turn: Yes
    Street Names: Yes
Notes: monitors traffic conditions, displays POIs, has the ability to create destinations through the web, has Google Local search for finding additional locations.

    Google Maps
    Price: Free
    Display: 2D Maps
    Turn-By-Turn: No
    Street Names: No
Notes: GPS works if another GPS app is running in the background, otherwise, GPS may time out.

    BB Maps
    Price: Free
    Display: 2D Maps
    Turn-By-Turn: No
    Street Names: No
Notes: Works similarly to GoogleMaps, but seems to hold GPS better. GoogleMaps seems to have better options, though.

I am beginning to think that for the ones that cost, Garmin overall is the best deal.

At $80 / 12 = $6.66n a month for the first year and then becomes free.

All the others are month indefinitely.

Am I correct in thinking that Garmin is a one time charge?
