So, I don't get it 'cause my google maps always says that it is accurate to within 2400 or 2700 meters which, in my opinion, is pretty worthless. In fact, it often places me serveal blocks away from where I actually am.

Why is this? I have GPS set to "location on."

Don't know what to tell ya bud. I had an older version installed when i first got my Storm, and it worked like schit. Then recently I downloaded again and was blown away how much better it is now as a whole. Finds a decent radius of my location almost instantly and then soon pinpoints my exact location.

    Thanks. I think I might have an older version. Yup, I do. Now I am updating . . . and . . . rebooting . . . and . . . it still has me two blocks form where I am!! (maybe I'm not where I think I am????

    What could be the problem?

lol you are LOST in BFE!

No, seriously it should instantly find within a large radius where you are and then give a message saying "waiting for GPS" and eventually pinpoint your location.

Hmm... I have a theory though. Because now my location is not being updated... I just manually unloaded VZNav earlier (using the app loader)... I wonder if that had some sort of effect on my GPS availability.

Or it could be that being indoors in a building is blocking my GPS signal.

OMG! I am sitting in my desk chair (it does have wheels) and I am watching my google map-little blue dot move down the block!! My blue dot is getting further away from me. (Do I need a doctor? A psychiatrist?)

I have VZNAV and it works great, although I'd rather have the freebie.
