I decided to register a Box account on my Blackberry Passport and they gave me 50GB for free. I'm curious if this could be a promo that works for all Blackberry or just BB10 phones?

I remember getting 50gb when I signed up with my PlayBook a few years ago. But I thought that promo was long finished.

When I signed up for Box.com, they had 10GB for BlackBerry users if they signed up via the Connect to Box app. I don't use it enough to warrant 50GB, but yeah, I wouldn't mind having it.

I have 50 GB as well, but Box is so slow, I find it unusable. I have 30 GB with One Drive, very fast, full integration with all devices, and no file size limit for uploads (Box doesn't allow over 250 MB per file with the free acct).

Onedrive is definitely the way to go if you want cheap, big storage.

I am a student, so I am eligible for the 4 year Office University.

Office University costs $80 cad + tax from Microsoft Store, which includes below for 4 years
    - 60 minute monthly international Skype minutes
    - Office suites including, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Publisher, and Access
    - And 10TB Onedrive storage

However, I bought my Office University from Craigslist for $50 :P.
I bought this in 2014, so I am good until 2018. And I am eligible to buy another Office University once the current subscription expires in 2018 to extend it further to 2022.

Even for the full price at $80 from Microsoft store, the service you are getting for the 4 years I think is worth it, especially considering what the competitors are charging for paid storage.

I used to use Dropbox and I think their cloud service is the best but my 50gb promo is expired so I switched to Box because of the free 50gb lifetime promo. So far I don't like Box that much. It's slow to upload, slow to load pictures for viewing online and there are so many unloading errors. I think I will give OneDrive a try since you guys highly praise about it.

Since Bing is the default search engine for bb10 I just signed up for their rewards program. Once I had enough points, I redeemed them for a 100 gigs of Onedrive storage.

I too have OneDrive through Office 365. Mine has been updated to the Unlimited. Crazy to think of the 10TB they gave us all...

Onedrive is great for personal use but Dropbox is much better for collaboration as you can share folders and files much easier.

In Onedrive, on the desktop when I try and share a folder, as in grant access to it to another user via an email link, it just copys a link of the folders contents into an email.

With Dropbox it sends an email that activates a clone of that folder in the other users Dropbox folder so that both users can put stuff in and edit files etc.

Maybe Onedrive can do the same thing but I couldn't make it work.

I seem to recall a ongoing promotion by Bing that grants the same free extra storage but for two years.
    And here is the link

I want to use OneDrive for most things but shared folders don't show in BB10. For example, I shared a music folder with my wife but she could not access it from BB10, that was a few months ago, maybe it is better now.
