found a bb curve- anything I can do with it?

I found a bb curve cleaning up at work. I took it to verizon, and they said the owner had already had it replaced, and they told me that b/c it was on the lost/stolen list, that there wasn't anything I could do with it.

Why the Verizon guy let me keep it, is beyond me; but he didn't really seem to want it back.

Is there any value to this phone? Is there any way I can get it hooked up?

You could use it for spare parts. Because it is reported stole, you won't be able to activate it on any network. The IMEI number is flagged in a database that all carriers can check whether or not a phone is legitimate.
