    I have forum setting which includes a copy of the reply with email notification

    Which is great

    Its option to include (or not) the reply with the email notification

    I do remember switching this on but I can't remember how

    I'm 99.9% sure that it is the default setting to include the reply and you can't change it.

    Under the same screen I suggested you can choose email notify options.

    Edit: Yes it's going to include a reply of that last post in the thread. That is what triggers it.
