The sniffing is going on..... But maybe there ain't nothing to sniff.

Chen's discussion after the ER seemed to indicate that the future of the hardware business rested on the PRIV.....

Maybe they just aren't going to waste anymore time and money on BB10, and maybe as many have suggested there is an issue with selling a Certified Android device and also selling a device that use any form of a "forked" runtime. Either way it doesn't appear there is much more coming on the BB10 front.

I wish more people would read the above before posting questions about Blackberry's future. It's pretty much the way it is, no matter how difficult that is for some to accept.

Yeah, there are a few threads on CrackBerry about BB10's future... none of them include a serious and credible suggestion that BlackBerry will further develop BB10 and design / release new BB10 devices... the notion is that if new BB10 devices should ever be announced, they will be based on possibly the Passport platform and might be in a variety of form factors, but don't expect any new BB10 devices for at least a calendar year.

    Patience is required.
'IF' there is any new BB10 devices in development, we will not get any news on it until after a hopefully successful launch of the Priv. Blackberry needs all attention on this device and announcing or hinting at any BB10 devices would be counterproductive to this. It just wouldn't make any marketing sense.

There's rumors on a high end BlackBerry coming on March 2016. Could it be another Android? Or could it be BB10? No one knows if this whole rumor is true or not at all

Where did we hear of this rumor, if I may ask? (BTW, I agree with you)

There are no indications anywhere on the roadmap from BlackBerry. Everything is speculation from unreliable sources period, from what we seem to know.

There has even been mentioned that the Priv will be release in 2016 with BB10. Even if this was remotely possible, by the time they would announce that, the HW specs will have to be better than what it currently, no?

In any case, as I have seen other poster's say, patience is required from all of BB10. If BB10 is really EOL, which I personally don't think so, then which devil would you prefer to dance with in the pale moonlight? iOS or Android, Android with BlackBerry ???

I for one, not going to iOS, just not productive for my needs. Android, I'd have to just go through the learning curve and get used to it. A BerryDroid, that would probably be the one, the HUB is the primary reason for me.

We shall a see soon enough with the release of the Priv and take it from there!

    Cheers!

Building on what you say that Priv might be released in 2016 for BlackBerry 10 with the same specs. Yes it might be not on par with the flagships in market of March 16, but it would be a great jump in specs for a BlackBerry 10 device with a non-square display

Nice to see you've already judged the Priv as without function before seeing any kind of review footage of it. We've hardly seen any action at all with it. It's a phone, trust me, phones do work, and you'll have to figure that out sometime in the near future

Looking at some of the new leaked pictures of the curved screen it looks like there could be enough of a black bezel on the edges to argue that it may be able to support swipe gestures. Which could suggest the Priv could also be loaded with BB10 and function properly. So maybe a BB10 version could come out later on utilizing the same hardware... Just throwing that out there. Lol

There is no plans as of yet to release anymore bb10 devices. Even my buddy who works at BlackBerry didn't see a bb10 version of Priv only the android version.

Face it, bb10 has run its course. Unless they decide to refresh the passport or classic, even that's a stretch given their quarterly earnings. Bb10 is done.

Personally I think BB10 is well into the EOL plan. What makes me think this is the lack of support in other areas. For example, the Facebook app has fallen into serious disrepair. The beta was last updated May 4th. And this app was fairly active.

They should never do another thing with the BlackBerry "FB" app. All one has to do is log on through the browser and then add link to the home screen! That mobile version works phenomenally well and is consistently updated by Facebook. BlackBerry just needs to communicate this method to users. Seriously quit using the BlackBerry App and use this method. Then if there is something to batch about take it up with Facebook. Then need users more than we need them.
