Fixing problems
Can anyone shed any light on whether or not RIM is attempting to solve the problems with their phones in general. I'm referring to primarily the phone locking up and the need to pull the battery and reinsert. I love the Pearl I have but it is annoying to pull off the hard case and pull the battery. It seems the longer I own the phone, the more a hard reset is needed. I keep things cleared out as best I can in hopes that the phone is not prone to these situations. I was just wondering what RIM's view is on this and other problems that people encounter on a routine basis....

My 8100 did the same thing until I upgraded to the newest OS from my provider. (4.2.1.96) I don't know what OS you've got, but sure made a difference for me. Only time I need to pull the battery, is after Application changes.

^ You really don't have to do that for most applications now and you are correct, that is what upgrades are for. Keep in mind that any device that uses a processor will indeed require a hard restart once in a while, being a mini computer pretty much. Its still the best device out there right now.
