Maybe on tethering and the OP isn't asking about tethering speeds.

AT&T has an average download speed of 933kbps and an upload speed of 180kbps. Sprint has an average download speed of 1361 kbps and an upload speed of 267 kbps.

1XEV is CDMA's version of 3G. 3G = 3rd generation. Most people associate 3G with GSM as att has pushed it very heavily. Your curve 8330 is evdo rev.0.

Ok thanks that's exactly what I thought but I was getting confused because most of the previous posts were saying 3G is a subset of GSM.

That test was taken in a different area, who knows.. I am just showing the speed test I got in my area. If it sounds any better the speed test that has the 2 mb+ was taken while I was on a phone call too. I cant take regular speed tests on my blackberry because as you know flash isn't supported.

The BGR speed tests (Carrier Wars) were conducted by many people in many different areas. The numbers I gave you were the averages...so, whatever dude. You just posted pics of your tethering speeds to try to make AT&T look faster.

Apparently you don't understand what I said, I just said I got that speed when I tethered to my laptop with my Bold, I did not say "at&t beats sprint" or anything to that extent so what's the problem here?

No problem at all. You asked me for proof of what I was saying...so I gave it to you. What's the problem with you?

Cool site, but are you sure its right... look what I got...

    lol ill try it again.

ah, its only transferring 512 kb

Ah, now I see the more mb files, kk i will try but i did rack up 5313 on a 512 mb file.

come on dude, this is way to fast but it showed the speed test at a time I would think is reasonable, 1MB FILE on my BB

I'm going to try the 3mb but this is way to fast to me.

Yeah I'm not buying it.. I did a 3MB one and look it says transferred 3072 KB in 5.615 Seconds.

    Weird bro...

So I tried this...mobilespeedtest.com on my BB browser...I clicked the Jag XF vid....and surprisingly I could view it! But Youtube didnt work before!

So it dl 512kb in 0.32 secs for me. gave me a current bandwidth dl reading at 12.50mbps = 1.56MB/sec..faster than cable modem or dsl....is that actually possible?

However, signal strength takes a factor in the actual speed! I was between 2 and 3 signal bars of a possible 5

i found4 signal bars strength afterwards...and gave me a speed of 13.07 mbps
