completely agree... whats on the app at the moment is really good.. but for a bb10 devicd which is now on par with the comp and can handle good software, its not really that great.

would like to see chat, share functionality.. and the new chat heads !!

theres no reason for blackberry 10 users to be behind anymore... there really isnt.. it comes out on iphone and ios quick time...why the delay on bb10? its not great

You're not the only one. Facebook has been thoroughly neglected. I could understand it for a while after launch but time is getting on now and there's no word about chat still. Facebook is a very important part of any smartphone these days, like it or not. Its development should be given a higher priority than the dearth of features and bugs would suggest it's being given at present

Agreed It's horrible on z10. I tried deleting it but unlike the twitter app you can't post an receive messages without the app installed. I thought they would enable that functionality given it can be done on PlayBook.

Good hypothesis and I can not dispute that.
But Facebook on 7.1 was developed by RIM not Facebook and was much better than what we have now. So we know that BlackBerry are capable of doing better in theory.
However they could be limited by the BlackBerry 10 platform which is why we have what we have?
Of course that is just my idle thinking.

Chat you can do in the Hub, but thats just messaging, so it's hard to actually use chat in real time when you don't know if someone's online.

Official FB apps suck on all platforms, believe me. I don't know about the Windows store, but on Android and iOS, there are several third party FB apps, such as Friendcaster.

Facebook app is actually pretty good on blackberry os devices. They keep adding features to it as well. I just think on bb10 they: don't have time to make it better, don't have enough developers to make it better, or don't care to make it better because they sold phones.

Yeah, chat is the problem for me... there's no solution for check your online list, except pulling up the desktop site...
