- BlackBerry 10 is a failure that won’t be able to compete
Bad products, horrible software and no cohesive vision have seemingly turned Research In Motion into a company without motion at this point. Throw in a huge delay before BlackBerry 10 smartphones start shipping, and it’s clear why people are losing, or have lost, faith in a company that played a tremendous role in making the smartphone industry what it is today. Thanks to one of our most trusted sources, BGR now has new information on what’s going on inside Research In Motion, and the picture it paints isn’t a pretty one.
Our source has communicated to us in no uncertain terms that the PlayBook 2.0 OS developers have been testing is a crystal clear window into the current state of BlackBerry 10 on smartphones. No email, no BlackBerry Messenger — it’s almost identical. “Email and PIM is a better on an 8700 than it is on BlackBerry 10,” our contact said while talking to us about RIM’s failure to make the company’s new OS work with the network infrastructure RIM is known for.
We also have some more background on why RIM’s BlackBerry 10 smartphones are delayed, and it has nothing to do with a new LTE chipset that RIM is waiting on. In what is something of a serious allegation, our source told us that Mike Lazaridis was lying when he said the company’s new lineup was delayed for that reason. ”RIM is simply pushing this out as long as they can for one reason, they don’t have a working product yet,” we were told.
At the end of our conversation, our source communicated something shocking for a high-level RIM employee to say. He told us that RIM is betting its business on a platform and ecosystem that isn’t even as good as iPhone OS 1.0 or Android 2.0. “There’s no room for a fourth ecosystem,” he stated, “and DingleBerry also works on BlackBerry 10.”
As seen on BGR:BlackBerry 10 is a failure that won't be able to compete, company source says12-22-11 09:22 AMLike 0 - This is unreal and disappointing. I'm trying as hard as I can to keep my organization on BB, but I can't keep using the same old reasons as to why we stay on BB and not go to an Android or iPhone.
Why aren't we hearing RIM has fired people in development??
It's almost like no one at RIM cares. Either that or failure is acceptable!12-22-11 09:29 AMLike 0 -
- The American media have been selling their story of demise for over 3 years now. RIM is still very profitable, yet apparently have the American media claim they have financial trouble. 1.5 Billion in cash, no debt and lots of assets. Lier's, all of them. The sad thing is they have the viewers on their channels around the world. after they say it enough times, people start to believe it. they know it12-22-11 09:49 AMLike 0

RIM CEOs lied about BlackBerry 10 delay, report says | Mobile - CNET News12-22-11 09:50 AMLike 0 - Should have just bought or licensed webOS.
Better software and an ecosystem that is roughly equal, if not even better.
Still would have differentiated themselves from iOS, Android and WP7. Could have added BIS/BES and sent it out on decent hardware.
Would have been much quicker to market and had a chance of saving themselves.
At the end of 2012, no one is going to notice when/if these BB10 phones even hit the market.purijagmohan likes this.12-22-11 09:56 AMLike 1 - This is the problem. No one believes RIM anymore.

Its really not even close. The issue comes down to execution on RIMs end and vision. (and a healthy dose of adveritising!).12-22-11 10:03 AMLike 0
- Taking it with a grain of salt. I really don't know what to believe anymore.
I am hoping that only a select few are testing the real Beta 2.0 for Feb as RIM realized that these leaks are hurting them.
This contact might just not be a person in the loop and now drawing conclusions.
Then again who know what is going on over there..12-22-11 10:08 AMLike 0 -

The sources for this kind of stuff are usually some poorly informed low-level employee who wants to be the guy with the scoop, so he exaggerates bits and pieces of information. Anytime I read an article with a single source like this, I dismiss it.
Think back on all the leaks from confidential sources inside companies that turned out flat wrong... iPhone 5 anybody?12-22-11 10:28 AMLike 0 - I'd take it with a grain of salt. BGR may be biased. BGR may not like RIM or their products. But BGR has a man on the inside at RIM, and this man knows what he is talking about.purijagmohan likes this.12-22-11 10:34 AMLike 1 - I think it is common knowledge by now that RIM is having difficulty intergrating PIM, BBM and the like on QNX with their existed network infrastructure.
What I find strange is the source saying that the platform cannot compete with iOS 1 and Android 2... Wtf? My experience with both OS 1 and OS 2 says otherwise and we even had Kevin posting pics of integrated Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.
Fair enough they might of or have lied about the chipset but I'm assuming that they are buying some more time in order to tailor their servers around QNX instead of the other way around. They just have to get BBM working with BIS/BES on BB10...12-22-11 10:40 AMLike 0 - Sith_ApprenticeMod Team EmeritusI am being overly simplistic here, but it seems that BBM shouldnt be *that* big of an issue. Set up another service that checks for BBID (like the voice chat does) and have that BBID forward the message to all the PINs associated with it. On the phone side, have a received BBM directly to a PIN then forward to the BBID. Again, overly simplistic but would work.12-22-11 10:46 AMLike 0
