but today something weird has happened. First, the hourglass is everpresent and everything now takes forever. Yesterday, no hourglass and moving from application to application was quick. In additon, now on the phone page, no incoming or outcoming calls are stored. There is no longer a history of contacts. Any thoughts? TIA.
Start with a battery pull - with your BB on, take off the back cover and remove the battery. Leave it out for 30 seconds, then reinsert it. It'll power up and reset. That should free some up so you aren't pulling your hair out before you do the memory free suggestions.
2,806,859? That's only 2.8MB. For your phone to work at it's best you need to have at least 10MB which would be 10,000,000 bytes. Are you sure you didn't miss a digit?

Thats what i was thinking. Thats why i guided her to that link i gave her. Its the easiest and fastest way to free up space for newbies. I hope she/he was missing a digit
That's why I was asking lol, if he missed a digit and is in fact above 20MB, his phone has a serious problem.
I just checked my 8330 and my file free is 38878224. Is something wrong for it to be this high? I just downloaded the beta 4.5 OS today so not sure if that has anything to do with this.

Noooo, I'm sorry bud, I should have specified. If he has 20MB of memory, and his phone is being that slow, he has a serious problem. There's no such thing as too much memory! If your phone is working fine you have nothing to worry about. Having 38MB free is a good thing.
