this may be a ridiculous question, but I am part of a family plan and some of us have blackberries, some do not. We pay for the package for one blackberry, and got a new one. Do we need to buy another package for a separate phone to get the BBM to work? I don't want to! Don't make me!

You have to get a data plan for each line that you want to have data on.

Generally the rule of thumb in life is: if you want to use it you are going to have to pay for it.

On our Everything Family Data Plan, the 3rd line is $19.99 vs $9.99, that's the only difference having a BB.
