I have 2 Curves, and one says "edge" and the other "EDGE". What's the difference?

One has only voice -edge- (texting/calling), one has voice and data -EDGE- (BBM/email/internet).

so "EDGE" is faster than "edge"? how about uma vs. UMA?

I'm debating if I should upgrade to the $24.99 data plan or keep my 2.99 unlimited t-zones which is workin out pretty well. I'm just starting to want email push and appworld.
