go to options > advanced options > applications > choose AOL Instant Messenger > menu > delete

Or you can highlight the app in the Instant Messaging folder, press the bb key and click delete.
Or you can connect it to your computer, open up app loader, remove the checkmark next to AOL Instant Messenger and click next twice to remove.
