Download progress in browser

I recently discovered that while downloading a file in the native BB browser (OS 5.0.0.732), hitting 'back' or navigating to another page no longer cancels the download. My question is, how can one return to the downloads screen to view the progress? I can't find any info on this.

That doesn't work if you have been navigating around the web since your download started. It only works if you are on the page from which you launched your download.
