Double Carrier Use
Hi all,
I have a Blackberry 8900 under an Orange UK contract, but spend a good 4 or so months a year abroad in Cyprus.
There i have a Cytamobile-Vodafone (the name of the local Vodafone partner) contract which i've had for years and recently added a BB service to.
The BB shows uppercase GPRS and i get the message that says the service is registered, but i can't properly register on the BIS server because my PIN is registered on the Orange server.
I've looked high and low on the internet, and have found several people in similar situations who said i wouldn't need to release the PIN since all the BIS servers are interconnected but instead could just resend the service books from the Orange website and i'd be good to go.
Unfortunately, the moment i put my Vodafone SIM in the phone, the Orange BIS website becomes inaccessible as my service is apparently suspended.
My first question is whether this method would work in some way, and if yes, then how?
My second question (since i have a feeling the answer to the first one will be "No" :D) is whether i can manually release my PIN from Orange (or any carrier for that matter) in any way.
Since i sometimes only spend 2-3 weeks at a time, calling them and having them (and then Vodafone on the way back) release my PIN every time seems like a bit of a hustle and would like to avoid it if there is a way.
Thanks in advance
