I am sure this is on here somewhere, but I have searched and search and cannot get a definitive answer.

    I have T-Mobile unlimited blackberry.

Does Yahoo messenger use data or sms?

I know the app that comes pre-installed uses SMS, but I uninstalled that and downloaded the one from blackberry app world.

    My question:

Does the Yahoo messenger app downloaded from blackberry app world use data or sms?

    Thank you!

Easy one. It uses the data connection.

Anything else we can help with?

Thank you. I have hear conflicting answers. Am I correct though, that the Yahoo app that Tmobile pre installs on their Blackberry uses SMS instead of data?

I'm pretty sure all the messengers use data unless they specifically say they use sms. Meaning you'd have to search for such an app. I believe one exists but I can't remember what its called.

Every yahoo, msn, and aol instant messenger apps that Tmobile preinstalls on every other phone (winmo, android, etc) they ship is set up to use SMS not the data connection.
