Does Blackberry 9800 have the ''read sms'' function?

no - you cant even see if its been delivered. you can only know if your device successfully transmitted it to the wireless carrier

You would need to use BBM or WhatsApp or some other messaging app for that function. I believe it's the same across all platforms. SMS does not relay that kind of information.

I think that Read Report thing on SMS is a carrier enabled feature. I haven't had a phone that did it for quite a while, because I think it's carrier dependant.

Quit making friends with people that play mind games. I have come to the point where if I know someone is reading the messages and they don't end up replying I drop them. In 2013 its no longer a valid excuse to say "I didn't get it", or "I didn't look at my phone" (for 6 hours???? I knew she was lying, she was always on her phone texting under the table). Everyone looks at their phone at minimum once every few hours and all SMS go through, AS A RULE OF THUMB.
