No, it sits in it's charging cradle and acts as my clock. First think I see when I wake up and last thing I see when I go to bed at night

I leave mine on the charger with the profile that it's always set on - Vibrate only

I leave it on, but either on silent or vibrate. First time I had a BB I was afraid the alarm wouldn't go off when I put it on silent, but it did obviously

I leave mine on at night, only had my phone for two days but recently read that the phone can be put into a standby mode. Might try that and see how that works.

One of the very useful features for me on the berry is the bedside clock one. I lay my Torch in the charging cradle at night, and at 10 pm it enters 'bedside mode'. Not only does the clock face get dimmed, but all messages go on silent - only the phone rings (need that in case of emergency). So the Torch is the last thing I see before turning in, and the first on getting up.

I usually set an alarm for the morning then turn the phone off. Then when I wake up I'll get bombarded with 2 minutes of constant ring/vibrate from all the SMS, missed calls, Facebook alerts, email alerts, my 2nd email alerts.

Oh HUSH! There is some argument for turning it off at night. It saves the battery, plus it helps you sleep and NOT be tempted to stay up late and use it addictively (as I often do). HOWEVER I never turn mine off unless I have to reboot it because it's acting funky.

Always on. We have no land line. Bedside Mode(radio only) when in cradle. It also serves as my alarm clock.
