Truth be known there are so many other things in life that I might get offended at but something like calling the BB a phone, no.

In the past when someone says to me I love your phone, I tell them it's a BlackBerry and rather than get upset, I show them how great and fabulous it is and 9 times out of 10 they end up getting one or wanting one. It's so much better to just be down to earth and not get aggravated or offended. Life is way too short. I feel sometimes like I'm 25 going on 100. lol
I guess I'm an old soul at heart.

No. My household has 2 BB Curves and a Nokia 6126; no landline. It IS my phone (and so much more!). I'm also more than happy to demonstrate its complete bad-***-ocity to anyone who shows the slightest spark of interest. I sold a guy on it in the sandwich line at lunch today.

Although it is not primarily a phone it does/can serve as a phone device therefore is in fact a phone.

Not at all. I do use it as a phone every day, and I call it my phone. Blackberry or Smartphone are both just its classification as a device to me. I really don't care what people call it.

I don't get offended, but I find that I don't call it a cell anymore. I call it by it's name or "my BlackBerry".
I do get offended if people call my car a VW Bug or a clown car
