    Anyone come across this?:

I was in add/remove programs to clear out my old Palm software when I noticed entries for both DM 4.2 and DM 4.5. I'm tempted to remove the 4.2 entry, but I'm leary of they f@cking up DM 4.5. Guess I could remove 4.5, then 4.2, then reinstall 4.5.

    Always weird sh!t going on.

It should be safe to remove Desktop Manager 4.2. It's generally recommended to delete the previous version before installing a newer one, but I installed 4.5 over 4.3 without any problem.

Thanks. I figure the worst that would happen is I'd have to reinstall 4.5.

If we were talking about Beta test software, it is wise to keep a known good roll back OS on hand.

That does no apply to Desktop Manager, if your computer supports v4.5 (Vista), then go for it.

Old timers, like Jeff, know that uninstalling an old version, prior to installing a new version, tends to keep the gremlins in check.

I should remember to do that in general. Most software updates seem to just write over the old program.
