Wifi uses a radio signal between the router and the device.
Your device can pick up a signal strength of -90dBm out to 100 meters / yards. Unfortunatly, your device does not put out enough power to reach back at that signal level.
In practice a signal strenth of -78 dBm (30 meters / yards) is usable.
Depends if you just have one source or are using repeaters. You can extend a wifi network out pretty good if you are using repeaters but yea you probably got 30 meters I don't know what the conversion is to yard is exactly but I think you got like 50 yards?

I'm guessing that your answer isn't quite what the OP was wanting to hear. But that's the way a question like this should be answered.
when connected to any wifi source my phone constantly shows -85dBm, no matter where I go or how far from my router I am. The UMA antenna 'waves' vary from 1-3 but it has never once showed anything else other than -85 under signal strength.
