If you had a good working 9630 they were solid as a rock.

They just had production issues, and a lot of trackball problems.

Most people are very happy with the 9630.

Probably the Storm1 of the two, it should have been what the Storm2 is. 9630 is solid, just production issues. RIM should never have allowed the production issues to happen. When paying a premium for a phone it should hold up like a premium phone.

Never used the 9630 but used both Storms so I would say the original Storm 9500/9530

RIM should have never released the Bold 9000. Or more to the point, they never
should have (and never should again) release a device with that horrid form factor.

Thr 9630. Release it only to replace it less than a year later with the 9650, in a very un-RIM-like manner.

Still on a 9530. Don't understand the hate. OS5 made this phone. Agree with ag, 9000 was crap.

    9000 was a great device.

    They all have there place.
Release the devices and people can have a choice.
(just try not to have to many production issues. It's bad for the brand)

Lol why are some people disliking the bold 9000? It was a great device imo. Very customizable too! . Out of all the phones, the storm 1 would be the bad one

I think they should have made all of them. Why not? If you didn't like one, you didn't have to buy it.

My least favorite out of the options given would be the storm 1. Not a fan of SurePress.

X2! To each their own, nobody is going to like every single BB released but everyone will like one of them!

Because despite the fantastic keyboard it was a huge brick-like monstrosity.

I have to go with the Tour. It's a phone that just never should have happened. Not because I think it was a total piece though; just because there just plain never should have been that model line.

As for the Storm1, I don't think releasing it was a mistake so much as the timing of the release. They should have tested it longer and made sure it was ready. Overall though I think it was a good phone to release because RIM needed a first touch screen and they needed to learn from it, which is what brought us to the S2. And really, the S1 was a pretty good device once they got the OS sorted out. I actually think the S1 may have a better OS than the S2 now...lol!

The 8520 is the device RIM should never have released. I mean seriously in this day an age a brand new mobile that doesn't do 3G.

I know so many people who've got/had the 8520 that have been put off Blackberry altogether because it's so slow and limited to GPRS/EDGE and because of it's awful camera.

You have to understand people have different preferences. I think the 9000 was the best BB ever made. I want a refresh of the 9000 if it is ever made.

But back to the original question, I think the Storm should have never been made. In my opinion it is a horrible excuse for a touchscreen device. The 9630 probably should have never been made, but the 9700 shouldn't have been made either. The 9780 should have been the 9700. Refreshed you can see coming a year ahead of time (Same with the majority of RIM devices though, release half of the product one year, and then make it what it should have been the next).

+1 I've said this same thing myself, Storm with 5.0.0.419 (the last OS I installed on Storm) was rock solid. Storm2 on the other hand: one crappy OS after another. I haven't tried the 5.0.0.1015, but I doubt much has changed.

I'm definitely going to go with the Storm 1 fiasco, the Storm name will forever be scarred from that.
