well after 3 months of trouble free useage i tried to do some backing up on dm.
my device connects ok but i have no left/right boxes showing??
i can still use a seperate media sync for my music but i cannot do danything else...
any ideas ?
have tried disconnecting usb/device/sequence of attaching etc with no luck.
should i uninstall and reinstall the disc?
does this do anything to any saved items i have?

I would suggest UNinstalling DM and then reinstalling. Which version do you have/use? Some folks like the older ones instead 4.7 DM.

I'm not sure what you mean by left/right boxes?

You should not lose any of your backups - they are generally saved in Mydocuments or someplace like that.
