I have a BB bold and use a MAC. I have over 10,000 contacts (9,500 +/- duplicates) in my address book. I cannot delete them on the bold and when I delete them on the MAC (using gmail) the sync doesn't work. As a result everything is very slow - on the bold and the google contact list. What can I do? I've tried deleting on both but neither "takes."
Ran into this in the How to forum under "Secret Codes" don't know if it will help but here ya go.

Also with your Contacts folder open, press Menu/Options and under- Allow Duplicate Contacts- select NO then Save. If this doesn't correct the problem immediately then do a battery pull.
