I send and rec. messeages with AOL. Can you delete a sent email on the bold, then go back and retrive it.

I would try and send a test message to your own account, delete it from your BB once you receive it, then check your inbox to see if it is still there.

Usually, when you go to delete an individual message, it will offer to delete from device and server, but when you Delete Prior, it just deletes messages on your BB.
