If the phone deletes something, how long can you "undo" it for?

Two examples are emails and browser pages that are tiled. I select a bunch and delete, then it asks to undo. Does it really delete?

I believe so, one you delete, it's deleted. No "Recycle Bin"....
Unless you just deleted the emails from the device, and left them on the server...

I had a think about that the other day. I get the impression that it's incase you realise in that split second that you've selected the wrong item. It's really not that long though is it!

I think you have a few seconds to undo it, a icon should pop up to notify you, but if you don't then it's gone .

Was editing a church presentation in Docs to go last night, and messed up a few times. Copying the whole text into ClipMan repeatedly is a bit of a substitute or at least emergency ("avoid worst case") workaround. :-)
