delete by search?

If I do a search in my messages, will the delete prior only delete thode that are visible by that search?

I deleted an email account from the blackberry. The separate mailbox icon is gone but there are still emails in the messages section.

If you do a search and then "Delete Prior" it only deletes the messages within the scope of the search, prior to the date you have selected ;)
