Yesterday I logged my BlackBerry usage to gauge it's usefulness to my day.
Here is what I did:
Sent and or received 228 emails
Made 32 phone calls
Received 18 phone calls
Used the GPS to get from my office to a location in New Haven
Used GPS to get from New Haven to Bridgeport
Sent 7 faxes to my office (eOffice is the app)
Monitored progress on four (4) projects (eMobile Planner is the app)
Checked in on how the Yankees were doing (They WON!!!)
Transferred money between my savings and checking accounts
Paid eight (8) bills
Kept in touch with my friends via BBM and Yahoo IM
Used the video camera light as a flashlight when our power went out
Bought grocery using MaraTick as my shopping list.
Booked a flight/hotel/car
Remembered to take my medication thanks to SmartAlerts
Remembered to pick up my dry cleaning.
Downloaded a ton of music (Thanks Wulf)
Read some of the Bible (Proverbs specifically
)
Found a recipe for Paella Valenciana
Read the New York Times and other papers (conservative and liberal)
Deleted a thread on this site
Took about a dozen pictures of my little boy - such a camera hog.

BB wakes me up in the morning
Check my account balances
Delete all the spam emails that I have received overnight
Check my calendar for what I have going on for the day
Read Chicago Tribune and NY Times using the browser
I send 25-50 emails daily
Chat with my wife using BBM and Google Talk
I use GPS to find my way to schools or facilities that I haven't been to before
Utilize my task list to keep me organized
Use memopad to keep notes
Make phone calls, usually 5-10

Dragged a comb across my head.
On the way down stairs I drank a cup.
Somebody spoke and I went into a dream.
Love the Beatles inspired title. Use mine quite a bit all day. Alarm wakes me, have coffee while reading the CB forums and answering a few. Check and reply to my emails. Check the weather then off to work. Listen to my music stored in the media card. Make a few phone calls, text the gf and make dinner plans. Make a grocery list and use it at the store. After dinner I work on my current song projects lyrics and save on exit. Read a little more CB, set the alarm and start all over!
He blew his mind out in a car.
He hadn't noticed that the lights had changed.

Decided not to do any work today, so left phone downstairs overnight.
- Put my BlackBerry in an H2oAudio waterproof armband
- Paddled out to sea with a few mates on big surfboards, trolling lures
- Charted our progress with Endomondo so we could find the reef again
- Made a couple of FB updates from the sea
- Took a phone call as I was paddling in through the small surf
- Coordinated dinner plans for the big pollock we caught via phone 'app'!

6:00am woke up with BB alarm clock.
Checked email - 586 this morning.
Replied to 15 of them at breakfast.
Checked weather for the day.
Made 8 phone calls
Received 24 phone calls
Finally got around to checking all email.
Then got another 30!
Checked on some reported posts
Sent some BBM's
Checked on some new Beta app's
Sent 15 SMS's
Get some pictures sent from my wife of my new born(4 wk) daughter from home

Reminder of homework I was too tired to print.
Check the weather, it's going to be 10 degrees today and rain. (woohoo!)
Listen to grooveshark on my bike ride to school.
Send/Recieve around 300 text messages.
Browse the google reader website.
Play some copter.
Give my phone around, they play copter and brick breaker.
Add another BBM.
Take a picture of todays work.
Send it to evernote.

10-21-10 08:27 PM - Well I'm typing this out on my Torch...so I can add it to the list of things I did with my (BB icon, if it doesn't show up)today.
For starters, I used Evernote to keep track of what I did
Day started like everyone else, the alarm on my Torch woke me up. I then scrolled through about 30 emails (nothing like AG's 228), got on the web to see who won the Sunday Night game (thank you packers; can't stand farve). That is my morning routine, helps me to decompress.
Checked CB while the coffee was brewing
Used Berryweather to check on weather later in the week for a trip I'm driving a bus for (that was in one of the 30 emails)
Used google maps to get a rough mileage plot & hrs on the road for said bus trip.
Used Olive Tree to look up a couple words while reading the Word (on my Torch)
Tasks - to get a feel for the upcoming week and added a few that pertain to my trip
Calendar - mapped out schedule for the week
Google maps again before leaving the house (we've had a ton of repaving work lately, and the traffic feature has been great since its the suburbs and the radio traffic reporters don't bother with us)
Media/music streaming to my Jabra BT during the ride to work.
Docs2Go for a daily "pre-trip" inspection I do on my morning bus run; save it in Dropbox and have a running record in case I ever need it!
(If you're wondering, I wear a lot of hats at work; mainly I do online college course development, but since I do have a CDL with a passenger endorsment, I help out with the bus driving as well; hence the trip this weekend)
Throughout the rest of the day:
-many more emails
-a few BBM conversations; used it to keep up on my son's emergency trip to the dentist
-Dropbox/Docs2Go - a big timesaver for me
-Calendar/Tasks (native apps), Lister for some checklists
-Was back on BerryWeather and the Weather Channel app checking out the storm we're supposed to get tomorrow, that's being predicted to rival the storm that sank the Edmund Fitzgerald.
-Was going to use OpenTable to go out to eat, but the Chase app told me otherwise.
-Also kept up with the Playbook announcements via the front page of CB throughout the day.
-and now am typing this out. I bought the SmartWifi app when it was on DoD, and now I leave my wifi running all day. Have had that and BT on and connected all day, no charging, and am at 40% right now.
To sum it up: I love this phone; couldn't live without my .

Its great seeing how all of you use your devices! Many of you have the same morning routine as me (there alot of coffee drinkers in here too... awsome lol)
I just have a question about tracking/ and logging your BB usage. I remember a watching a video a while back, I believe it was Kevin who did a video on an application for BB that monitors and records your daily/weekly usage, and then the app shows you the exact amount of time that you spend on messages, phone calls, facebook, etc. Do any of you know which app im talking about, or know the name of the app?
