I posted this question in the Blackberry Pearl 3G section 3 days ago and have yet to get a response so, i'm hoping someone here can help.
How in the he.. do you assign custom ring tones to individual contacts?!
I have a BB Pearl 9100
What I have attempted is:
I've picked a specific contact
edit
custom ring tones/alerts
phone
picked ring tone from pick list
left everything on active profile
then saved
Shows what I picked for ring tones for that contact as being saved but, when that contact calls, the ring tone I picked is not used.
What am I doing wrong?
I even tried using the below directions from the 9100 user guide but I can't even do step 2 because, "set contact alerts' doesn't even appear after I click the sound icon.
On the Home screen, click the Sounds icon.
Click Set Contact Alerts.
Click Add Contact Alert.
Press the Menu key.
Click Add Name.
Click a contact.
To add additional contacts, repeat steps 3 to 5.
Click the application or item that you want to change.
Change the ring tone or alert information.
Press the Menu key.
Click Save.
I checked out the tips/how to section of this forum and Googled how it can be done and have yet to find a solution.
Any help on how to actually do this, would be appreciated.

Good thing I eventually figured out the problem on my own.
