I've had my BlackBerry Curve 8530 for almost a year now and the battery charge has always held up great. I've noticed this week that my battery is draining very quickly, even when I'm not using the phone for anything. The only thing I've done differently this week was to download UberSocial. I always had UberTwitter and didn't have any issues. Could UberSocial be draining my battery life for some reason? Any other things to check for?
If it is set to update often, yes it can. Check the settings for the app and adjust as needed.

Any app that keeps running in the background will use battery resources. I always close US at the end of my session.

I've always found Uber to be a bigger drain than regular Twitter
The difference in battery effect is the only reason I stick with T4BB over UberSocial.
Maybe ! Try to increase the refresh time(For ex. : instead of every 30 minutes .. Make it every hour)
I never have issues with battery drain using Uber. If you have Uber check every 10 minutes or such it will drain the battery much faster. I leave mine at 1 hr intervals.
