For all those people out there missing the track pad, i just made a neat discovery. When the "Bubble" appears during editing of text, if you want to move the cursor right or left by just one spot, tap either the left or right edge of the "Bubble" - the cursor will move in that direction. It also works for moving the cursor up or down one line!

    Awesome!

Yeah I think the fine edit "bubble" is implemented in a way which is pretty much on par with iOS's method (which is slick). Very happy BlackBerry did it that way.

There is a lot to learn on this phone and I'm always learning something new everyday. This phone is awesome. This feature will help a lot. Tapping makes it so much easier than fumbling around with that bubble and trying to place exactly where you want it. Many thanks.

Good tip. Only seems to work in certain text fields though. Doesn't work in the browser address bar for example.

It does, you need to tap slower.

You're right, I was just tapping it in the wrong spot. Touch area is smaller I guess since the bubble is 1/2 cut off. It works though, just takes a few taps to hit the right spot.

I thought I had seen a thread with some good info on this last week.
I think this solution was mentioned in this post http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...5/#post8162064
There are also other very good informational posts there.

How easy is it to highlight blocks of text with this? Fiddly or reasonably precise?

    Excellent find.
Shame on BlackBerry for not highlighting these features. Not everyone reads these forms, you know...
It works better in email but in other apps if you tap too fast it turns into text select feature.

Another thing many don't know is that a two finger swipe right to left deletes two words. May not sound helpful, but say you typed word one right, hit space and it corrected, didn't notice, begin typing word two, notice "Typo", two finger swipe will delete word two and undo the auto correct.

My unique discovery: Long press on a lower case letter will capitalize that letter just like on my old qwerty keys. Thought that was gone with the virtual keyboard - but thankfully, no.
