So, For some reason my Blackberry BOLD isn't opening my contacts.

whenever you click on a name and it expands your contact and you can view all the numbers you have added with them, email addresses, company etc etc. it doesn't open that or do that.

if i go to my call log to the numbers their and i highlight them, only then does it sow the number.

Ive been having to re add contacts and delete the one that wouldn't open. How Do I fix this?

Have you tried to do a battery pull on the device and see if you still have the same issue when it reboots?

Have you downloaded any 3rd party contact manager software?

i've done a battery pull this morning, no luck.


don't have any 4rd party contact managers, atleast i don't think i do.

would Facebook count? it syncs my contacts to their FB profile pages, not sure if that has anything to do with that?

and whats Filter?

No, facebook shouldnt affect this, and you would know if you downloaded anything that was a 3rd party contact manager.

What OS are you on?

then no i don't think it has anything to do with a 4rd party Contact manager.

Filter: In the Contacts app, Press BB button (menu) and see if there are any check marks or FILTERS set. If the wrong filter is selected it could filter out everything, showing nothing

there isn't anything check off. its blank.

I've read about various problems when using the FB app. Have you tried uninstalling it to see if it is causing the problem?

No, i don't think FB is a problem because i was able to open my contacts up until yesterday

Try sending yourself service books. It's from the BIS under the Help tab.

I had this same problem when I installed the Facebook 1.7 update. Once I unistalled it, problem went away (though a couple of my contacts had info changed to <Content Protection Enabled>.

I tried to later reinstall FB 1.7 and then I couldn't open my fb contacts again.
