Recently I have had a few contacts delete themselves out of my phonebook. It has happened mid text message even. The message went from having the persons name to just their phone number and when I checked their contact information in my Address Book their phone number had been erased.

Anyone know why this is happening? I am using the Q10 and have been very happy with it up until this point. It's happened with about a dozen people so far and without warning.

Are you syncing your contacts with your Gmail account?

Try resetting your HUB. Swipe diagonally from the top right corner 5 times.

Happens to me after a long long time. Restart your phone and wait for like 5 mins after reboot. **** should all be normal.

Just restart your phone and it will go back to normal after a couple of minutes.

It could also be linking contacts, which would make some seem like they "disappear" when in fact it just makes one less of the linked contacts show up in search.

Check the "Links" button at the bottom of a contact to see if it is linked to any other contacts.

It prioritizes the Mobile Phone number as the linking criteria - if you have any contacts in your database with an identical mobile phone number and you have linking turned-on, it will link them.

I would check to see if you're missing any emails too, same happened to me when 3 months of emails disappeared

Contact App on BB10 is little...er...a lot messed up. First make sure you have the back up of your contact or do so.

Use universal search or search within Contact App to find the contact. You may see a different name in the search result. that means BB10 has linked your searched contact with the one it displayed coz it thought so.

In side that contact record, you have to hit Links icon at bottom and unlink them if you need to.
