I live in Toronto, Canada.
I am just about to become a bold 9700 user with subscribing to Bell.
Only one thing, however, I am concerned is that
whether it is available to connect my 9700 to
a place where offers a free wifi internet service,
such as my shcool, libraries, etc.
without any data plan and extra charge.

The connection should work fine. You will need to be sure the connection is not lost or data charges may ensue.
