I currently have a curve, and have a data plan etc to use the phone to its full potential.I have just bought another unlocked curve to experiment on ie os updates etc.If I take out the sim card from my current unlocked phone (carrier Orange uk) and put it in my new unlocked curve will i be able to get e mail and internet browser etc on it or is that side of the phone connected to the devices pin and ime numbers and will only work on my original curve.Would i just be able to make/receive calls and send/receive sms messages.

If I"m being stupid feel free to FLAME ON,but answer the question first,

    Cheers Highlander

Yes, but (there is always a but) to get it to receive email and
such you need to log onto your carriers BIS site, change devices
(enter the PIN and IMEI of the phone you are switching to) and
resend your service books. When you go back to the original
phone you have to redo this process.

EDIT: Should have mentioned the SIM card has to be in the
phone or the device switch will fail.

    I do this regularly.

My Curve doesn't have a Sim card. Does this option vary according to carrier?

That is because your phone is a standard CDMA device. GSM phones use SIM
cards as do phones such as the 8830 World Edition.

You can still switch between devices by using the Activate My Phone link at verizonwireless.com.

You still need to log into the Verizon BIS site to change the device PIN associated with your email accounts and probably resend your service books to get your email going on the device if the service books don't get automatically sent to the new device.
