I get to upgrade my work phone on AT&T and not sure if I should get the Bold 9900 or Torch 9860. All that is really important physically, it a good camera/camcorder. I can use both virtual or physical keyboards. Just wanted to see if anyone in the CB nation had a chance to use both devices on a daily basis, and then which one did you choose for permanent use.

Anything will help me out it this point since I can get either device for a PENNY!!!

    Thanks in advance!

I have been reading that, but some say it takes great photos while others says it does not.

Having used the bold 9900 camera I can tell you it is sub-par. From far away the pics are decent nothing special. But try taking a picture up close good luck. I've seen 3.2 megapixel cameras beat this. The 720p hd is pretty good though. Hope this helped

Not saying it has a poor camera, i'm sure it take great picture, just no A/F. So from your quote in bold is why I mentioned it.

My wife has the 9860 and it is a great device. I love the screen and the size. Since you are comfortable with touch keyboards I would say go with it. The camera is great. The 9900 has a good camera but very bad on close ups. I keep wanting to try the 9860 for a few weeks but my wife hates the 9900 so I'm not able to use it as an everyday device. Notton mention that I wouldn't let her around my 9900. She would scratch it

sam_b77: thanks for the input. My wife once made a call from my flawless Tour, and sure enough when she gave it back, there were scuff/scratches on the screen from her earing. Never again did I let her use it.

I have the 9900 and I have no idea why people complain about the camera. I've taken great pics with it and it has a selection of different scene modes.

I don't get why people complain about close up shots cause it takes pictures of txt just fine and theres a preset for txt too. I could see someone choose a non-bb device if a camera is really that important to them, which I think would be weird, but between two 9900 and 9860 I think the choice would come down to whether you want a physical keyboard or not.

I've used both models and both are great but I wouldn't part with my 9860 for anything. Camera takes great pics and the screen size is awesome! My wife has the 9900 and when I use her phone for anything the small screen drives me crazy. The real estate on the 9860 got me spoiled.

That was the point of posting on CrackBerry for the decision maker. I think people are a custom to having "AF" on their smartphone. I don't think RIM would have released a crappy camera on their flagship device. Thanks for being honest and helping.

Good point about the screen real estate, never really considered that in my options. I was testing an iPhone 3GS for work purposes, but I used a Tour for the past 3 years and the screen size never really bothered me. After using the iPhone, maybe I should go with the 9860 considering a lot seem to consider the camera is better and of course the extra inch of screen. Thanks!
