Don't trust third-battery batteries that haven't been certified by BlackBerry, especially those from companies that lie about their capabilities.

EDIT: Hey. What about the boy who cried curve-bomb? Did the ever find the device remains and the box so he could return it to BlackBerry for invertigation?

I saw this happen, on a prototype medical device that was designed to be implanted in a human, no less. These high capacity batteries are bombs if they skimp on the separator material. Consider how many companies try to make money on products where there really is no margin. And they feel pressured to skimp as much as possible to have any kind of profit. And rigorous testing of batteries destroys them. I am surprised it does not happen more often.

I've been using 3rd party batteries from China for 10 years on several generations of BlackBerry devices. Never had an issue except reduced life.

That said, based on articles on CB, I've decided not to use them anymore.

As I send all of our old berries to used market with all of the many spare aftermarket Batts, it will be the last I see of those.

Best to get converted before I have problems.

I'm sure we would have heard about it if the "investigation" had gone anywhere. lol... Btw I totally agree; don't get third party batteries. Why put your $600 plus investment at risk for a $30 dollar purchase?
