A wall charger will usually charge faster than a USB charger because it has more current capacity, but there is no difference in the charge put into the BlackBerry. To your specific question, "does a BlackBerry last longer when charged by a wall charger than by a USB port?", the answer is no. Assuming you let the BlackBerry fully charge, the battery will discharge at the same rate.

I have noticed that the wall charger charges faster than the USB to PC connection.

I charge my phone in my car quite often and since my wife uses our car charger, I use my usb cable with something very similar to this:

Seems to work quite well. I haven't compared charging a phone this way to the actual car charger, but I know the BB car charger puts out 500mA.

Actually the slower charge is better for the battery I've found overall.

The AC charger charges quicker, but the battery dies faster than the PC.
