    if sprint and verizon are both cdma carriers why is it that verizon has phones that sprint does not ie the storm?

    Storm was exclusive to VZW. Not all devices are on both companies.

    Along with exclusive deals, as BK above mentioned, it is the carrier's decision ultimately what equipment will be offered to the customer.

    You can tell them, but it won't do any good. As BK mentioned already, the Storm is exclusive to Verizon at this time.

    There are advantages to being with the largest CDMA network.

    VZW payed a good chunk of money to carry the Storm exclusively in hopes of getting people like yourself to switch carriers. Just like Sprint did with the Pre, AT&T with the iphone, and T-Mobile with the G1. Its just the name of the game.
