so Kevin and Adam here on Crackberry changes their avatars to the cartoon style.. its not really bitstrips and its not as messy as other online searches i did for photo to cartoon convert.. its really sharp and HQ. does anyone know how to do this? i want to make myself like that for various profiles online...

I've heard Kevin mention that they have someone who did the avatars for them. Hopefully Kevin will come by and give us more details. I wouldn't mind cartooning myself either.

I had a cartoon avatar of myself at one point. It wasn't completely accurate, but it was cute enough. I wish I could remember the site! I'll see what I can find.

cartoonize.net, ms paint (to erase bknd) and some z30 effect for brightness and sharpness, etc..
its still not as HD, and crisp, but its ok, i guess.. thoughts?

Wouldn't like to charge tho. But honestly, it takes two to three days to get one done. I could flex my hand in doing some free ones I guess

by the way, i tried that $10 service, see my avatar for the results. they only did the headshot, so I simply overlayed it on my previously made cartoon.
