Unless you are using an instant messenger of some kind, of BBM, I don't know of any way to do this. Sorry.

    Sort of.

You can email to the SMS email addres of the person you want to reach, say, [email protected] or something

AT&T would be either [email protected] or [email protected], with 1234567890 being the 10 digit phone number.

Why do people pay for international text messaging?

Yeah. I do that with my daughter. She has 250 TXT on her line I don't have any. So she and I can communicate that way. I email her phone ([email protected]) and she TXTs my email address.

    Works like a charm!

    Hey,

Ted from Kik. We actually has an app that does just that, to US and Canadian phone numbers.

Check it out: m.kik.com. You get 50 free outgoing per month, and unlimited incoming, but right now you can just click credits in settings and get 150 for free

If you have any thoughts, would love to hear them - ted at kik dot com

Also, if you can get lucky enough to score an invite to Google Voice, that will allow you to send SMS through data (though it will be a new number)
